The Results Table

The results table displays annotations for chains and chain pairs which match the search criteria.

Where chains are paired, the partner chain will also be shown in the results page on the same row. The results total shown above the table refers to the total number of rows.

Often both partners in a pair will satisfy the search criteria. If one partner does not satisfy all the criteria, the associated information is shown in a fainter colour in the results page.

If there are more than 20 results, the table will be split into pages and navigation buttons will appear above the table. Use the > and < buttons to go forward or back one page. Use the button to go back to the first page. The number of results per page can be adjusted using the dropdown.

Customizing the View

To change the format of the displayed results, click the Customize View button.

This will open up the annotation options section. To apply the changes to the table click Submit at the bottom of the display options section or reset to the defaults by clicking the Reset button.

Results are cached making it relatively quick to add extra columns to the display or to page through the results, once they have been obtained. Very large results sets are not cached.

Selected Columns format

This format allows the user to specify columns in the results table.

The first section with checkboxes allows basic annotation fields such as Data Source, Source ID, Chain Type and References to be added as extra columns in the results table.

Fields can be checked for a chain and/or its partner. Some fields will be the same for paired chains, others will not. Some fields that should be the same for paired chains (e.g. antigen) may be missing or miss-spelled for one or other of the chains. Checkbox settings for the heavy chain are applied to any unclassified chains.

The Match field is used to indicate whether all search criteria have been met for a chain. It is set to Y where a chain satisfies all the search criteria and N for any partner chains which do not satisfy all the search criteria. Data for the N chains are also shown in a fainter colour in the results page.

Kabat Book format

This format displays the numbered sequences from the database hits in a vertical format reminiscent of the Kabat Sequences of Immulogical Interest book.

The Numbering Scheme dropdown can be used to change from the default Kabat numbering scheme to Chothia or Chothia+ (Martin) schemes.

You can select whether the numbering should run vertically down the page (with one chain or chain pair per column - the default) or across the page with one chain or chain pair per row.
