Region Length

This page is used to generate a frequency distribution for the length of a specified CDR or framework region, based on pre-calculated region lengths stored in the database.

• Use the Region Definition dropdown to select a region definition: Kabat, Chothia or Contact. Region definitions are explained in the help for the About / Definitions page.
• Use the Chain Type / Class dropdown to select a chain type, class or sub-class.
• Optionally, use the Organism dropdown to restrict the analysis to chains from a specified organism. If the organism is not specified, the analysis will be carried out across all sequences in the database.
• Use the Region dropdown to select a CDR or Framework region.

The length distribution for the selected region will be displayed as a graph together with an associated table showing the number of non-identical sequences and relative frequency for each region length. The graph or a CSV file of the data may also be downloaded.

Note 1 The organism specification is hierarchical e.g. if you select Rattus the distribution will include sequences from all Rattus species including, for example, Rattus rattus and Rattus fuscipes.

Note 2 The chain type/class specification is also hierarchical e.g. if you select Heavy Gamma the distribution will include sequences classified as, for example, Heavy Gamma 2a.
